The writing is okay, but there isn't enough in the short story to really tempt me to go and buy the next one.

This chapter follows Grace's successful completion of the 4th trial in part 7. She should be feeling triumphant & secure in her relationship with David. Then he reveals the identity of the club's owner & tells her about "table five". That table has always belonged to Amber as the hostess of the club. She designs the trials with David's approval & tastes in mind. Grace can now challenge Amber to become the hostess but that would mean giving up her life in theatre for the unknown because it's a full time job.
Would that mean she & David would be exclusive, something she desperately wants? And does he want her to take the job? He's still able to flip the switch on his emotions, moving from passion to cool reserve. She has 1 week to decide.
The battle between the two women would be a full day long test with a theme, involve other men & winner takes all. The loser is banished from the club. And the test is a doozy.
If you've read the previous parts, picking this up is a no brainer. You'll finally see how all the story lines play out & what happens to some of the recurring characters. If you haven't, it's a quick erotic read that will add a little fantasy & spice to the end of a long day.

Be careful when ordering a club sandwich

As with the other chapters in this series, the title gives you a clue as to the theme of the challenge. Grace now faces the fourth & final test since first attending the Dining Club 4 months ago....total submission.
She's in love with David & desperately wants something more permanent. He does love her but also knows himself. Sooner or later, he'd tire of her as their life grew to be routine, too vanilla. Then he'd start searching, craving a new conquest to satisfy the darker side he's never exposed to Grace.
All the regulars are back, including Amber who'd like nothing better than to see Grace fail so David would need her again. Andrew continues to have a hidden agenda. He wants Grace & the only side he's on is his own. Then there's the mysterious man Grace has never seen before. Could this be the actual owner of the club?
Grace has to juggle the fear of losing the test & probably David while hanging on to her day job. As with the other parts of this series, the sex is seriously sizzling. This is a must have for faithful fans but even if you're a new reader, you can enjoy this quick erotic novella. Maybe just crank up the A/C first.

The Dining Club is more than the name implies. It is a place to discover how far you are willing to challenge your sensuality and discover/expand your sexual horizon. This is erotica at its best.

Our story follows Grace as she discovers David, the man she has fallen in love with, cannot commit to his love for her, unless she is able to discover and participate in the kind of lovemaking that makes him complete. The Dining Club provides a series of tests which will expose Grace to BDSM. If she is able to complete the 4 trials involved, David will be able to finally fully commit to her.

The trials, although not extreme, left me wondering how far could someone go to prove love and commitment. Through this serial novel, we come to know our characters in some depth. This serial novel evolves through 8 different insttallments. We ourselves are placed in the trials with Grace, making us wonder how we ourselves would survive each test.

This story is brilliantly written, with full character development and a great plot line. The ending is good but leaves me wondering if the author is considering a spinoff novel or novels. There are characters in this novel I would love to read more about!

Grace has meet her match in the bedroom with David. He completes and satisfies her every need. She realizes that in their relationship of six months, that she loves him. Grace seeks Davids feelings and finds him to be distant. She does not want to rock the boat, with her concerns with their relationship. She chooses not to express her feelings because she does not want to lose her sexual interaction with David.

David is hiding a piece of himself from Grace. He has waited to show her this hidden side until now. He is eager to take her to the Dining Club.

In book one, "Desire", we are left with whether Grace will learn about what David likes, sexually or will she walk out of his life.

The cliffhanger makes you eager to read book two.

In part two of the dining club we open with Grace making a decision to be a part of the festivities following dinner with David. Prior to the festivities Grace is introduce to four new characters. These characters seem to be a driving part of the sexual activities following dining.

I really enjoyed Andrew's and Laura's character. They are very nice to Grace. I do not like Amber's character or Amy's character. They are up to something and they both want to be dominated by David.

Andrew seems to have a sexual interest in Grace and he is so kind to her. Grace finds comfort in her interactions physical and non physical with Andrew.

David is extremely bossy and rude. He is still a little distant with Grace.

I feel for Grace. She partakes in this sexual scene because of her love for David but he is still hesitant. He tells her he can not be with her if she does not pass the scene. She must pass each table and activity to be his. Grace does make a valid point by saying to David that he is enough for her and why is she not enough for him. We never get the answer.

Now I am on to book three.

Part Four:

We begin were we left off in Part Three.

Grace just finished completing the last item on the menu. Originally she was dining with another couple but during the activities she was left alone. The people who were dining with her chose to not continue with the dining club.

Grace learns more about herself in Part Four. This scares her. Because choosing to stay at the dining club with her love, David, means that there is no way back.

David is in love with Grace and is tired of being alone. He wants someone to share his life with but within in this thought he know that he will tire of his love with Grace, as he has in the past with others. He wants one women who can be his everything. And when he meet Grace he saw that she could be that person.

David and Grace are fighting to be with one another. David needs Grace to complete all the dinners. He needs her in his life.

Desire is part one of a series called The Dining Club which is made up of eight separate novellas. This story was sexy no question, but didn’t have the length needed to get me hooked. I’m not sure if this prevented me from connecting with David and Grace, or if I just didn’t like them. I thought it was kind of sleazy of him to invite her to the super secret members only club for freaky sexy times without at least a subtle heads up. Something like "hey, pack your nice panties because strangers might see them."

Grace seemed like a strong independent woman who turned into a wuss in David’s presence. Maybe had the novella had a little more meat I would have a different POV. At $1.99 an installment (for a less than a 50 page novella) I doubt I’ll read more.

It looks like this may be turned into a full length novel that will be published in January 2014. I truly think this will read better as a full length novel.

Note to self: Words like length and meat read super pervy when reviewing erotica. Check thesaurus for alternate wording next time.

I have never previously read a book with so many sex scenes which was incredibly dull. There was no fire, no excitement, no nothing; in fact, I found myself skipping forward in the book, over said scenes, to get to the end of the book and finish. The characters were one dimensional and very stereotypical; strong successful woman always in charge, sexy guy determined to change her. Seen one, seen them all.

I'm not certain why it was such a disappointment, but it really didn't fire my imagination in any way. And the end was just foolish. Books should be believable within their own sphere, so to speak, and this one just wasn't.

Being that the description of this book makes reference to authors like E.L. James and Sylvia Day, I almost didn’t want to touch this one. There aren’t many things that’ll turn me off from a book as much as taking two “huge” names in a given genre, and throwing it as an attention grabber in a description. Despite this, I was intrigued by the part of the description that was actually about the book, and I’m glad I did.

From reading enough excerpts of Fifty Shades, I’m confident in saying that this book is not comparable to that series. Anderson has a very well written and well thought out story to it. There’s not much to this part of the full story, but the author was able to get a good start to the development of the characters and what the overall story will be.

The main female character, Grace, is set up nicely and I liked that she’s a strong woman, but has a softer side that plays well with the male lead, David. I have a feeling that as I read more parts of The Dining Club series that these characters will only become more complex, as will the story.

My only real complaint about this is simple: It’s part one of (so far I can see) eight. It’s not a story one or book one. It’s just part one, and it ends with you wanting more. This isn’t normally an issue for me, as for the most part this does wrap up the conflict of this section, but it also cuts off at a point just before more action will start. I’ll probably be reading part two in the next day or so because of the urge to keep going, but I have a feeling that I’d rather have had this as one complete collection instead of as a serial novel.

Caress by Marina Anderson, the sixth book in The Dining Club series, picks up where Touch left off in Grace's apartment with Andrew about to spill the beans about the next challenge.

Will his and Amber's subterfuge manage to drive a wedge between Grace and David or will it just push them closer together.

The fourth trial is about to begin and Andrew has told Grace that it's a weekend long challenge. The big question is, will David tell her ahead of time or just leave her to discover it on the day of the challenge.

What does Amber have planned for Grace? Will it be enough to force Grace to quit the challenge and leave the Dining Club forever? Will David continue to sabotage his and Grace's happiness out of fear for the future or will he step up and be the Yin to Grace's Yang.

Touch by Marina Anderson is the fifth book in The Dining Club series. As before, this picks up right where the last book left off.

Grace is starting to believe that David is sabotaging her third trial. He is doing all he can to make it more challenging for her. This test is one of stamina and he's already pushed her to her limit long before the trial begins. Can she outlast Amy, who works at the Dining Club and has been through these trials many times before? It seems impossible, and she feels betrayed. Add to this mess the fact that Amber is doing all she can to make sure Grace fails these trials and it seems hopeless.

Can Grace pass this third trial? Will David continue to be distant and calculating? Does she even want to pass this test if he continues behaving this way?

Read this steamy short serial to find out...

Crave by Marina Anderson is the third book in the eight part serial "The Dining Club". I don't know if it was because I got sucked in so quickly or if it just really was so short. It's the same length as the last two books but seemed shorter.

I felt a little cheated that it ended so quickly, and I am not one to usually complain about serial novel lengths and prices. Unfortunately, I have been sucked in and will continue on to book four, Seduce.

I knew early on that I didn't like Amber and this book just made that all the more true.

A short review for a short book.

Seduce by Marina Anderson is the fourth book in the eight part serial "The Dining Club". This book was the same length as the last three, and that was OK this time around. If you remember, I was a little miffed at how short the third book seemed. While book four is also short, I felt I got more meat to my story this time around.

This fourth book will leave you excited, and eagerly anticipating reading about Grace's next trial in Touch

I still absolutely despise Amber, and Andrew will make my hit-list if he really does help her in her maniacal scheme to steal David away from Grace. Grace is getting more comfortable with her sexuality and with the things David is into, she feels he is connecting with her on a much more emotional level when they are there, at the Dining Club. My issue is, they barely seem to see each other outside of the club anymore. Add in the public appearance at a charity event with his PA and I wonder how faithful they have agreed to be with each other and if that has even come up. It would bother the crap out of me, but I'm reading about it, not living it so we're cool!

Bound by Marina Anderson is the second book in the eight part serial "The Dining Club".

We pick up right where Desire left off. We get to know a little more about Andrew and Amber. I, personally, start to strongly dislike Amber. We also meet two other employees of the exclusive Dining Club, twins Amy and Laura.
Grace gets to experience her first table and take the "test" to see if she can make it to the next part of the initiation.
It turns out that David may be a relationship kind of guy, IF, his partner can handle this erotic side of him. Does Grace really have what it takes? Did I mention I don't like Amber?

I enjoyed what I have read so far and will definitely be reading Crave next.

Desire by Marina Anderson is first in the eight part serial "The Dining Club".

Set in London, Grace is a theatre director in love with a financier, David. She knows he's not the type of man that falls in love and hasn't told him how she feels, even though they have been seeing each other for about 6 months. This book introduces us, not only to Grace and David, but to The Dining Club it's hostess, Amber and another employee, Andrew.

This story appears to have an interesting twist and a refreshingly different plot from anything I've read before.

I enjoyed what I have read so far and will definitely be reading Bound next.

Top magazine editor Natalie Bowen is successful in business but can't seem to stick with a personal relationship because of her dominating nature. After hearing of a friend's erotic weekend away at The Haven, a sex retreat specialising in S&M, she decides to book a weekend for herself. There she is attracted to one of the tutors, Simon, and suspects that he is attracted her as well. Things progress from there.

If you want a book that is just sex, sex, sex, than this is probably for you. However, the lack of character development and plot left me quite cold. Of course Natalie never seems to have a period or a headache or any such trivial things that plague real people! The odd spelling mistake is also irritating, but at least this title was marginally better than 'Eighty Days Yellow'.½

Basically, if an author of Harlequin Teen novels was commissioned to write a book that had scenes of submissive sex play, this is the book you would get.

There are two major problems with this book - first, that the manner in which the Domination/submissive elements are illustrated is inept; and second, that the romantic storyline that was shoe-horned in was painfully condescending.

This book is NOT for anyone who already has a grounding in the tenets of Dom/sub play. The way it is shown in this book is not true to life and will set your teeth on edge. There is no discussion of trust or safe words, or any of the basic rules that any responsible player puts into place.

This book is strictly for people who find the idea a bit hot, but know they wouldn't want anything too heavy. Also, it is for people who need an element of romance to feel OK about kinkier sex - not that this book covers particularly kinky play.

Personally, I felt that having the instructor and student fall in love (is... that a spoiler?) was insulting. It was like saying that women can't enjoy the idea of a good fuck without making sure there was "love" there. Even if that "love" was between two people who hadn't spoken except to get into various sexual positions.

It is also painfully traditional in its gender roles: while both men and women go to this resort to learn to be submissive, the male guests also take a dominant role when paired with the female guests. The female guests, of course, never act dominant. In fact, instructors and others go out of their way to mention how unattractive they find "these kinds of desires in women". Including the 'romantic' lead.

In short, I thought this book was pants. It was quite simply not a hot enough book to make you forget the embarrassingly unbelievable love story or the inconsistently handled Dom/sub play. Not worth the price.
