Some helpful advice in some areas, but too much eisegesis and poor editing (grammatical and theological—Nehemiah returned to build the Temple) for me to enjoy it or take it too seriously.

I sampled a number of chapters in this college-textbook style work, and came away unimpressed. Far too much of the book is spent teaching presumably ignorant undergrads about mysterious happenings such as the Roman empire, the Reformation, and the 20th century. The rest of the book does attempt to address educational philosophies/practices throughout western history, but at little depth, and with many errors. Kierkegaard a godless relativist? That's what you learn here.
