A nice finish to the series. Rachel, Salomon’s favorite, works very hard to start her clothier business in order to keep Eliezer at home in Troyes. He is fascinated by astronomy and it drives a wedge between them. Jews are also starting to lose their favored status due to social changes. Salomon’s tracts are going to be very important in saving Jewish culture and beliefs.

Miriam becomes learned in both Torah and women’s medicine when she becomes a midwife. The families face the dangers of the times, but their love for each other and faith brings them through. A nice depiction of Jewish medieval life,

1068. Salomon Ben Isaac has returned to Troyes to take over the family vineyard and start a yeshiva. This is a story of the Jewish community and his family’s part in it’s life. Good characters, good story, nice start for the series.
