The stories in this collection were better than the last one. There was more depth to the stories this time around. North Eastern India has a voice in Ao and these stories portray the harsh conditions of life in NE India,

Do not let the simplicity of the stories fool you into believing her writing is simple: Temsula is a sophisticated writer.
The stories give an insight into the Naga people's culture and struggles during the insurgency. They show how some found themselves as underground warriors and how some changed and exploited their people. Unurprisingly, human nature is the same across the world.
