This story was written for the M/M Romance Group Love Has No Boundaries 2013 prompt event. Image prompt is of a man taking a shower and he has a gorgeous tattoo on his back.

Morgan has a crush on his boss Jonathan. It's about the flirting that goes on between the two and Morgan's resistance to Jonathan's interest.

This is a very short story that takes place in an office and at a carnival. It's told in first person from Morgan's pov.



I had a bit of a problem getting into the characters and I'm not sure why. I don't think it was because this is a short story.

There is an action sequence that confused me in this story. It had me stopping mid-story to go back and search for information I thought I'd missed which in fact wasn't there.

Morgan chats to Jonathan in the cafeteria:

Mug back in hand, he (Johnathan) walks out of the cafeteria without a backwards glance.

Morgan's friend Kadie says later:

Smoothly-coiffed head of hair poking out of the cubicle beside mine, another of Jonathan’s admirers whisper-growls, “What did you do to deserve being called to his office, Morgan?”

I had to go back to see if I could find anything in the section before her comment which mentioned Morgan getting called into Jonathan's office. There wasn't any.

Later in Jonathan's office Morgan thinks this:

Out of his division? Had he known this morning— of course he had, he said he’d been planning on calling me in today.

So this whole sequence is out of order and incomplete. It took me out of the story and really knocked down the star rating on it for me.

This is a quick read and had a nice idea behind it if it was a longer story however, I couldn't get into the characters and the office sequence of coming and going was very confusing. I give this story 2 Stars
