Having a few sisters myself I thought this would be an
interesting book. I ended up buy the audio version
and I must say I did not care for the narrator of the
audio version. I think if I bought the book to read I may
have liked it more.

There are 3 Butler sisters Yvonne, Lara and Tami. They
are not close at all and all three of them have various
problems and secrets. When their beloved
Grandmother Betty dies they are shocked and
Grandma Betty has left the three of them her house on
Patuskie Island, South Carolina but with conditions.
The three of them must go to the house and renovate it
together. She put $50,000 in trust fund for the repairs
and renovations. Once they are done they can keep
the house or sell it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the part of the book that took
place in South Carolina. The sisters themselves have
many secrets from each other as did Grandma Betty.
Drama ensues as all the secrets get revealed. All works
out in the end and the three sisters become close and
are happy again.

Two different takes on werewolves, but both have them hot for full figured women. The first, Feral Passions, was better than the second in writing, piloting, and eroticism, but that's just saying it wasn't actually painful, just dull and predictable.

A Lion’s Heart by A. C. Arthur

First book in the Shadow Shifters Rebellion series. Paranormal shifter romance.
This world takes place years after the original Shadow Shifter series when shifters were first revealed publicly. It can be counted as book 7 in the whole reading order. This book can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series.
It’s not a cliffhanger for the main couple but not everything is resolved in the world building.

The shifters have been forced to live underground for their own safety. A complex and enormous bunker system has been built throughout the country. The daughter of the underground ruling class, Nisa, has a mission and must travel with a bodyguard. Decan will obey the directive to keep Nisa safe but she isn’t making it easy. Her running above ground is a disastrous plan, and the sexual tension between his lion and her jaguar is driving him insane.

A multilayered story of fighting to overcome oppression. Fighting for freedom. Differing agendas drive the overall goals of peace and freedom. It’s mid-war with still hidden motives.
I was under the impression from the synopsis the story would lean toward erotica but that is not at all the case. Yes, there is a romance and semi-hot but the full plot line is more tension driven from the underlying war being waged, the various characters battles and the lust that is driving Nisa and Decan plus their goals of winning and leading.
I found the sex scenes themselves lacking. I don’t want to include spoilers but found the satisfactory emotion only at the very end. I guess that’s how it supposed to be?

Complex and layered. Many important characters beyond the couple. Ongoing war between humans and shifters. Dangling threads.
