Losing Susan: Brain Disease, the Priest’s wife, and the God who Gives and Takes Away.Victor Lee Austin. 2017. Victor and his wife and his wife had what seemed to be an ideal, faith-filled marriage. Victor is an Episcopal priest and Susan was a stay-at-home mom who was also wrote and spoke on in favor of pro-life movement. The marriage that Austin describes as a “Song of Solomon” marriage gradually becomes a cry of Job when Susan is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Austin frankly details his emotions as Susan becomes more and more dependent. Neither loses their faith, a grace which helps them endure years of hardship.
