I would say that this is a fairly comprehensive restoration book for the Trans Am/Firebird enthusiast. I haven't restored this particular Pontiac but do have experience in others (mostly MGs and Isuzus - yeah I know). This book is very well designed for easy reading, with many detailed and comprehensive photos. The tips and tricks in here are worth their weight in gold if nothing else. If you're doing your first restoration this is the book for you - or if you've done others but this is your first foray into the Pontiac premier pony car, I still think this book is worth buying.

Printing is computer-direct-to print (just a bit better than color copy printing) and the perfect binding (term for glued) is a bit crappy - expect this to fall apart as you have it spread on the workbench. However the price is right at less than $20 currently (retail was $29 but it's less than $20 on Amazon). From what I've seen all the Restoration series of books from CarTech have been well thought out and worth a purchase - especially if you're doing what the subject-matter is about.

TRANS AM & FIREBIRD RESTORATION: 1970-1/2 - 1981 by Melvin Benzaquen is a great guide to the mechanic wanting to get the most bang for his restoring dollar. Not only is the advice great, but this book is chock full of informative photos making the task of rediscovering the glamour and power of these cars so much easier. As a CarTech book, you know this is a high quality product, and this one delivers in spades.
Indispensable for the do-it yourselfers or the auto mechanics on the job. Mr Benzaquen proves he is the master at performing magical restorations. Before reaching for the air gun, pick this one up and find an easier way of doing the job. Plus, so many of the insights here translate to other makes and models.
Plus it is a great book just to read and admire.
