“People who don’t experience pain like that-they don’t turn out to be people of substance. You know, people who make a difference.”

This story started out pretty typical for me. Girl goes to rock concert in support of her friend who is a HUGE fan. Meets rocker. Instant love. Chaos ensues. What I didn’t expect was for their magnetism and chemistry to literally jump off the pages. This is no dove releasing, angels playing harps, love story. This is a story about growth, denial, and discovering who you are. The road isn’t always easy, and you may not always end up where you think you will, but the journey is significant.

“No you don’t,” he says, angrily throwing my arms away from my face. “I want to hear you. I need to hear that I make you feel good.”

Tracks is the tale of Dylan and Jeremy. I know a lot of people have a hard time believing in instant love. But when it is written well, and you connect with the characters, it works. Dylan and Jeremy worked. You could sense something else going on that wasn’t clear at the moment, and yes, you will figure it out LONG before Dylan, but always on the forefront was their love for each other. Sometimes people meet and you are like, hello, there you are. When people speak of your heart finding its other half, I experienced it in this book.

“I don’t want you to do anything you’re not comfortable with. But I can’t resist you anymore. The way you walk, Dylan. The way you sparkle in that dress. The shape of your body. Your pretty face. The way you look at me, like you actually care for me. I need to have you.”

Dylan comes from a broken home and doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes of her parents. Despite all the warning signs, she cannot stay away. I just wanted to grab and shake the poor girl. This was an educated woman, in Harvard law school in fact. Surely she couldn’t be so blindly in love as to see what was right in front of her face.

“This ain’t a fairytale, Ms. Ackhart, and I’m no prince.”

Though we only receive minuscule bits and pieces about Jeremy’s past, it is clear from the beginning that this is a man with A LOT of demons. My only gripe with this book is that I wish we had received more information on him. I just knew he had a story to tell, but as the entire story was in Dylan’s POV, we only received what he shared with her.

“I don’t have to, but I want to. Because I love him. And when you love someone, their problems become your problems, and their pain becomes your pain.”

There are some things that play out in the end that I thought were told with a gritty honesty. And although I wanted to knock some sense into Brook to open her eyes, I understand how love can be blind. I was left wanting more, much more. Luckily there is another book in this series. I cannot wait to see where the road takes Dylan and Jeremy. 4 star read for me, just because the beginning was a little slow to my liking. Once it picked up though, hold on for the ride!

ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Where I held a few reservations about Tracks, Trials is a no-holds barred, pure angst-filled ride! From page one, your heart leaves your chest and you are left with uncertainty. You see, Trials doesn’t pick immediately back up from where we left Dylan and Jeremy. At the end of Tracks, they have decided to go their separate ways, believing in their current state they are toxic for each other. Though they have ended it, we are led to believe it is only temporary and that they will find each other again someday.

We sit for a few minutes, not looking at each other. The tension in the room is heave and I’m concentrating on breathing evenly so that I don’t give in and pass out. Regardless, my heart is more alive at this moment than it has been in the past ten months.

Imagine my surprise when we pick up a year later, and not only is she NOT with Jeremy, not only is she WITH Scott, but they haven’t spoken in over 10 months. As in he just up and dropped off the face of the earth, switched off his phone and his bodyguard’s, and all his social networking sites. Out of the blue. Like I said, this book starts off with a bang and doesn’t let up for the majority of the journey.

“Damn you, Dylan,” he says, growling the words in between kisses. “Damn you for making me love you so much. I need you. I need you now. I’ve never needed anything more in my life than I need you right now.”

What I really loved about this couple is the magnetism between them. No matter space nor distance, they are never far from each other’s minds. No matter who they may be with at the time, their heart is already spoken for. I almost feel sorry for their placeholders, but only slightly. The passion between Dylan and Jeremy is OFF THE CHARTS! They have both overcome a lot, but there are still many hills to climb.

“You love me. Stop making up excuses for us not to be together. It’s been long enough, Dylan. I don’t want to waste any more time living without you. My money, my career, my looks, my voice…they mean nothing to me. You give my life meaning. You saved me. Let me make you my life.”

I truly LOVED this book! I am not sure if this is the end of the series or not, but if it is, I am okay with how we left them. There are many trials and tribulations in this book, as the title so aptly suggests, but the strongest of all will always prevail, and that is love. 5 stars from me!

“The truth is, I’m only happy when I’m with you. I’m only comforted when you comfort me. I only feel safe when you shelter me.”

Evryone wants to read a story with a Rock Star in it. Everyone wants to be the girl that said rock star falls in love with. Sometimes though things get in the way. Other times you get subject to first hand what the life of a Rock Star can be like for real, Especially when that Rock star has Things he needs to work through in his life.

Enter Dylan Ackhart Harvard Law Student who moves to Boston with her Best friend Theresa to attend college. Dylan did not have the greatest childhood, with parents that cheated on each other all her life. Her Best friend is a hard core fan of Jeremy Mason and his band. They have tickets to go see his concert and Although Dylan really does not want to go she goes with her BF.

Once at the concert, (which they have front row seats) Dylan and Jeremy lock eyes. From there things get complicated. Dylan Gets trampled by the girls around her and Jeremy see’s this and gets the security guys to help her. From there Jeremy does all he can to get to know Dylan better.

Jeremy rock star, Singer, guitar player, Every Girls Dream guy, but this dream guy is hiding things. He has some serious issues going on and the closer him and Dylan get to each other the More Dylan suspects things are not all they should be with Jeremy. He is hiding something and it is something big from her.

As these two get closer so does the drama. Dylan is trying to get herself ready for college and now she is dealing with a Rock Star boyfriend, the public in her eye, the Bad mouth groupies. She gets to her limit at one point and finally realizes things need to change.

The book ends in a mild cliffhanger. Not a Major I need the NEXT ONE RIGHT NOW, but one that leaves you wanting to find out what happens with these 2 people. Can Jeremy and Dylan get through all their ups and downs and put the pieces back together or not. We will have to wait and find out in book 2

4.5 Stars

I was really excited about getting this book. I could not wait to see what was going to happen with Dylan and Jeremy. Sarah did not disappoint me at all.

I think I liked this one better than the first one in the series, Both Dylan and Jeremy have grown up a little.

Dylan is moving through life trying to be happy since everything that happened with Jeremy in Book 1. She is in a relationship with Scott, She does love him, but it is in a totally different way then she loves Jeremy. She is in her 3rd year of college with her law degree and just starting her internship with the District Attorney’s office. . Then a situation puts her back in Jeremy’s life.

I don’t want to ruin one ounce of this book for anyone, you need to get the full effect of it all to understand it all on your own.
I will say this it is not going to be an easy road for Dylan and Jeremy, there is a lot of things that come to the surface. Dylan is going to fight for what she feels is right. Jeremy is going to piss you off, maybe even Dylan will once or twice, BUT in the end it is all worth the pain, heartache, and love in between.

Although I wanted Dylan and Jeremy to finally get it together and have their HEA I have to admit I felt a little bit sorry for Scott. All that he had invested into his relationship with Dylan and he got nothing in return but heartache. I am kind of hoping that Sarah will do a spin off and give Scott the HEA that he rightfully deserves.
