Katie Blackburn

While Katie Blackburn's idea is interesting, I'm not sure it will work for little listeners. She introduces several sleep inducing techniques through the story frame of a young bear trying to fall asleep. Dozy gets advice from both parents and grandparents about how to fall asleep. Much of the text is lyrical and rhythmic which fits the goal of the tale, but the addition of the mixed media illustrations doesn't enhance the text. I recommend this only as an additional purchase for public libraries that need more bedtime stories for young children.… (mehr)
