This first set of novellas is about Cora Shaw, a college student dying of cancer, and Dorian Thorne, an ageless vampire who saves her with his blood kiss. The story is told from Cora's POV and there is so much tension in the story it was mind numbing.
I loved the plot of this book. I have always been a fan of vampire tales from Dracula to Twilight, but this one is special. The author really gets in to Cora's head as she struggles with her terminal diagnosis then takes a leap of faith to be cured. But is the cure worse then the disease?… (mehr)

~ 1.5 Captive Stars ~
The Alpha’s Captive is book one in The Alpha’s Captive series by V.M. Black. This book is not bad, but not good either. It’s just eh!
We barely get into the story when BAM cliffhanger ending. No depth to the characters. Harper does things that even experienced stuntmen would have had a hard time at. Then she is all over a guy who stole her car. Why? Felt unbelievable. Levi, Ya he is a sexy werewolf, but he does not stand out. Of course he is attracted to Harper, but it seamed like he would be attracted to any women. Nothing note worth or likable about the characters in this story.
It is an eh read! Good for a lunch break. It’s short, quick and has a cliffhanger ending, so to continue the story and find out what happens with Levi and Harper you will have to pick up the next book. I’m glad I received this book free off Amazon, because I will not be continuing.

Descent read with an interesting storyline. Semi-developed characters. Harper and Levi are on a wild ride as they are chased by a pack of wolves, vampires, and humans. Attraction is evident from the beginning. Good plot.

I really enjoyed these books. It was very fast paced & well written. I look forward to adding the rest of the series onto my 'Want to Read' shelve.
