Stuart Bladon (1933–2022)

Considering how retro-tacky the cover and design of this book are it's actually one of the better books that I've read about Mercedes-Benz. The text is brief, but it forces the author to be concise and only speak about the most crucial aspects of his topic, rather than getting bogged down in technical specifications. The photographs aren't really anything special, but I feel like they were more carefully chosen than in books which have far more room for inclusion. We are treated to a good range of models from the earliest Daimler and Benz models to modern limosine modifications and even a few of the more stunning concept models. Of course, this book was published quite some time ago, so the cars represented are very dated, but this gives the book an overall nostalgic charm that makes it especially fun for me to read as I grew up driving a model similar to some of their "latest" Mercedes-Benz vehicles.… (mehr)
