I loved this book! Turgenev has an incredibly clean way of describing both setting and characters; just the words you need and no more. This was an interesting insight into Russian culture and the story showed that the relationship between fathers and sons is timeless. The dynamics from the 1800s hold today. This book had more surprises than I anticipated including a plot twist at the end. An enjoyable and quick read.

Pocahontas, Princess of the River Tribes, tells the reader all about her life. Each page talks about things that were in her life. Her father, the people, hunting, dancing, and John Smith. Each is detailed and has beautiful drawings. In the end of the book it shows how to draw the indian people and the "strangers."

I like this book because it simply explains to the reader about Pocahontas's life. Each part is broke down into its own section. I like the drawings in this book at the end. It makes it easier for the students to draw them.

I would use this book in the classroom when learning about the indians in history. All children know about Pocahontas, this book will help broaden their knowledge of Pocahontas. After reading the book the students can draw a picture from the back of the book.
