Young wanna-be starlets are disappearing and Leo Pulp is hired to find one of them. Looking like a cross between an exaggerated Bogart caricature and one of Lucky Luke's Dalton brothers, this tough-talking hard-living Private Eye manages to be in the right places at the wrong times long enough to slowly discover the horrific truth! A wonderfully entertaining fumetti with characters rich and vibrant in a world with as many nods to Hollywood as to slapstick comedy. I found the fact that Leo is on good terms with the Police Captain (Nick Tracy whom Leo constantly refers to as Dick) as well as having a woman who isn't pining away from unrequited love, a nice touch. Leo is tough, but there's a bit of heart in him that he keeps trying to avoid (because he knows he's supposed to be tough! :) ). A really, really, enjoyable read. I wish I could share this book with more of my friends but, alas, without being able to read Italian, it wouldn't be the same. I could see this book being made into a movie with Roberto Benini filling the role quite perfectly :)… (mehr)
