Blood of the Dark Moon by Adrianne Brennan is a steamy tale of vampires, magic and the occult. Amanda has invested all of her time and energy into being a devoted follower of Apollo and her college graduate studies. Just when Amanda is starting to realize that Jesse isn't an ordinary guy, she finds herself being turned into a Vampire. Blood of the Dark Moon started off a little bumpy in spots but Ms. Brennan quickly found her rhythm and it only got better from there. There is a raw emotion between Amanda and Jesse where one moment they are in the throws of passion and ecstasy and the next they want to rip each others throats out due to frustration.

Another wonderful thing I enjoyed about Blood of the Dark Moon is that the characters were free to follow the religious path of their choice, often depicting ancient religions that follow Greek or Egyptian Gods, without judgment.

The fact that the Vampires use magic was an added bonus as well. It's not everyday you get to read about Vampires using different methods of Divination to make decisions within their Clan.
