Just when I thought this series couldn't get any better, we get to see the relationship between Eric and Wolfe. Wolfe spots his potential mate in a crowd and starts to slowly "woo" him by leaving him roses on his doorstep. Things quickly take a turn when Wolfe changes Eric into a vampire against his wishes. After Eric wakes up with a "new" body and different state of mind, he is hesitant at first to pursue any type of relationship with Wolfe based on their initial meeting.

An absolutely lovely read. These characters are unique and interesting - I love the fact that the author used Onley James' Necessary Evils as a reference for his vampire character. The world becomes clearer in each book (this was #5) and the characters are a touch more developed. The plot was basically straightforward with a slight jig-jog thrown in so not a 5 - but excellent non the less. I found the depiction of Eric unusual as most authors try to build characters the reader can identify with and since Wolfe is a psychopath I thought Eric would be the 'likable' character. Oh - don't get me wrong - he is not dislikeable (is that a word) just not one that a reader would identify with, but it works.… (mehr)
