Saving the Seas for the Purple and Green by Nancy Carlisle, is A Story of Cleaning Up the Ocean. It always amazes me when I hear about all of the things people find in the ocean. It is sad that people and companies think it is ok to dump whatever they don’t want into the ocean where there is sea life that die because of trash. Nancy Carlisle writes this Children’s book to make children and their families aware of Sea trash. There are tidbits captured throughout the book that highlight important things, like the trash from the ocean made into different objects to better enforce what the author is saying.
Even though much is being done about the trash thrown in the ocean, there is still a lot to be done. I hope this book will circulate around so it can be a valuable tool in teaching our children and adults too things we can do to eliminate as much sea trash as possible.
In the last several pages of the book you will find a wealth of resources to further your study about this critical subject. Thanks to Nancy Carlisle for this book. As well as the beautiful illustrations created by the author. I encourage you to grab a copy of this book for your child’s library, and while you are at it, pick up a copy for your child’s class at school.
