I honestly have no idea why I didn't read this earlier. This was really enjoyable. Everly has just the right degree of eccentricity to make her interesting but not unbelievable. Some really yummy men and a lot left to be revealed in future books.

This book made me happy. Truthfully, I think that says it all.

I'm obviously in the mood for these as I'm sorely tempted to download the rest of the series while I'm on a roll. I likely won't (I've got waaay too many unread books at present and want to enjoy the anticipation)

We didn't really get to see much of Mitch this book (so boo for that) but Pierce is still around (very changeable indeed) and there's a mystery involved on top. I didn't enjoy this quite as much as A Touch of Ice. I don't know if it was that the first book so was refreshing when compared to some other things I've been making my way through lately.

Everly's 'touch' goes on the blink and it's never really explained why. This kind of bothered me. I'm hoping it's a set up for down the track. Still, it's good that it came back in time to get things moving along better. Although (being me) I do have to wonder if her 'touch' returned at that time so that certain 'bedroom activity options' had a legitimate reason to be explored. hmmm..

Psychometrics is the ability to relate associations from an object. Why not just from the fingertips? This paranormal story isolates one of the psychic's tools into a believable tale. Each character is so well-developed you can see and smell them. The action is on-going but always allows a period of reflection, so you don't become overloaded with the not-so-normal.

Romance, mystery and the out-of-the-normal are all the elements of a good story. Ms. Charles combines all these elements into a fast-paced read. Each time a new character is introduced the pace accelerates. By the end of the tale you are in a flat out run to the end.

I'm really not sure about this one. Some aspects had inordinate stress put on them that seemed a little out of place with the basics as laid out in the publisher's blurb, especially if this is part of a series. It is rapidly paced and has some interesting new concepts, but it just didn't do it for me.
The only thing that kept me from giving up at several points was Valerie Gilbert's excellent voice performance.

I enjoyed the first book of the Everly Gray series by L J Charles so much; I went out and bought the rest of the series.

In book 2 Everly's hinky fingertips, as well as her insatiable curiosity, get her even deeper into trouble. She visits a bombed-out mall, and her fingertips go on the fritz giving her blurred around the edges, foggy and distorted images, which she finds difficult to interpret for Detective Adam Stone.
Wanting to find out what is wrong with her fingertips she goes investigating on her own. So, what happens is she finds a body! And, then her car was blown up (luckily, she had just parked it and walked a semi-safe distance away)! Then she finds another body!
Well, you get the idea Everly Grey, and her fingertips are a magnet for trouble. If you enjoy romance and mystery with a little of the paranormal thrown in, you will enjoy this fast-paced read, laced with zany and lovable characters.

Not everyone can stay sane watching murder through the eyes of the killer.... A murder mystery, with visions of the paranormal and a little romance to glue it all together. It is a fast read taking you from the mid-west snows to the Hawaiian sunny rains.

Another Everly Gray adventure, this time it isn't so much her hinky fingertips that are getting her in trouble as her curiosity about her family.

She flies to Hawaii to search for her grandmother and as the story develops the full cast of characters arrives to help her. But even though they all congregate together there are changes coming, is Everly ready for them?

Being the third in the series, I think the effort to complete all the various story threads, has caused this to reach the height of non-believable a few times. After saying this I can only add that LJ Charles writing never disappoints, it picks you up and keeps you involved to the end. If you enjoy romance and mystery with a little of the paranormal and a lot of humor thrown in, you will not be disappointed in the highjinks these zany characters manage to get into.

I'd never read L.J. Charles before but picked this book from one of those 99-cent ebook sales that was running within the last few weeks. I have a pile of print and Kindle books in my "to be read" pile, but after a "glimpse" at the first couple pages of THE KNOWING, I got sucked into the story and stayed up far too late on a couple nights so I could see what was coming next. I finished this morning, and had to tear myself from the preview of the next story in the series! Ms. Charles does a terrific job with conveying emotion, not just of the protagonist (it's written in first person) but of the other characters as well. I fell in love with the mother and father, wanted Whitney for my own friend, and wanted to follow Nia and Trace into the future. Wonderful job.

Interesting enough mystery. Some plot holes were hard to swallow, but the characters were likeable.

Wonderful stories that are profoundly moving and provide a wide variety of characters that share why they are there at the Reed’s tattoo parlor for unique designs to be inked on their skin to commemorate something or someone important in their life. The artists and the clients all played parts in this book and all of the stories left me feeling better for having read them.

It was a pleasure and an honor to read each of these beautiful stories and I thank NetGalley and Night Shift Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I absolutely loved the main character Everly and could clearly see her in my mind's eye. The murder mystery story and Everly's budding romance with Mitch intertwined throughout which was a great touch, and I found this one very hard to put down. The romance is emotionally descriptive without being slushy or too graphic, and I found myself rooting for Everly and Mitch to get together, and delighted when they seemed to be heading in that direction. I've since downloaded the rest of the Everly Gray series and some other work by this author. Great stuff!

Despite a bit of stilted dialogue here and there, an altogether engaging story about a paranormal mystery solver. A very good introduction to the various characters, piquing my interest and I definitely would like to read more about their adventures.
