Review of Star Trek Beyond - the 3rd film was okay. But it suffers from the same issue as all action films today - too much banging, crashing, fighting and explosions and very, very little character development. The character moments that do happen are great and work but there are far too few. The original films learnt from their mistake on the first film and realised it is the characters that people watch Star Trek for. Sadly, the new films have forgotten that lesson. So OK but I don't think these films will be rewatched by myself as much as the original films have been and will be.
And why, oh why do they spend a fortune on special effects and THEN make the films so dark, you can't actually see anything??? I don't get it, I just don't.… (mehr)
