The Kiss (The Addison Series Book 1) von Erica M. Christensen
Short story of a woman who is in my opinion, conceited and full of herself. Granted she is given a crappy time of it...she loses her job and finds our her fiancé is screwing the pool boy on the side. So Addison goes home only to find her hometown isn't what it used to be. Her friends have all changed, especially her best friend with benefits.
I only recently discovered Christensen’s poetry, and have read a few shorter pieces on her blog. Seeing that she published one in ebook form was a pleasant surprise that I wanted to check out.
While this ebook is only one poem in length, I feel that it was a great choice for her first publication. It’s has a great emotional tone. It also uses a repetitive set of lines to solidify its meaning for the reader, but not in an annoying “I’ve read this already” way. It was natural to the poem.
I hope this poet comes out with a collection, because I’d be one of the first to pick it up. I see a lot of potential in Christensen’s work.… (mehr)
