Anita Claire

This book didn’t really go in the direction that I thought it would. Reading the synopsis I would expect just a regular romance novel, but that isn’t the case. I feel like Juliette, the lead female character, is a very strong-minded girl and could do well on her own. She doesn’t need a guy, but of course she would like one (don’t we all?). And throughout the book she finds one…or two.
Juliette is such a well-rounded, newly graduated woman whom is surrounded by people that are quite the opposite. She has a ‘best friend‘ and roommate that she lives with, but she stays close with her mostly due to the fact that they have been friends for quite some time. An obligation to say the least. I like how Anita Claire surrounds her with other personalities because it allows us readers to see things in different lights. I don’t just like one set of character personalities…it is diverse and I give applause to Anita for accomplishing that.
The thing I enjoyed the most about this book is that I could relate with the topics involved. I am twenty years old and though I am not a recent grad, I could still see where Juliette was coming from in some situations. I have had a lot of books where I just couldn’t relate, but I was fully able to do that in Meet Me in Silicon Valley.
The reason I rated it with just 3.5 stars was because I am on the fence about the double love story. I am having trouble myself deciding on whether or not I am a fan. I am leaning towards being a fan and that is why I would round this up to a four store (if needed).… (mehr)
