I received this book as a first reads winner. I really enjoyed this book. After being done with it, I’m wondering did it really happen or was he crazy? I have lots of questions I would like to ask the author. It was well written and the author sucks you into the story right away. I cringed every time Charlie drank heavily as I haven't been around people who have a drinking problem. I felt for him and his demons and wanted to step in and have an intervention. He had a black period in his life where he was institutionalized for a short time and he questions whether he is having another episode or if what is happening really is happening. This makes you question if what he is seeing is in his head, is it due to the drinking or is it really happening. I do recommend this book if you want one that will challenge your imagination and make you question what is really out there in the spirit world. It will make you want to know what really did go on at the end.… (mehr)
