Preston Cloud

I read this book soon after it was published, revisited it recently. The writing is clear, and the illustrations and maps helpful. I don't know of another book with its scope, from cosmology to plate tectonics and paleontology. ,
It is probably dated, and I cannot find a new edition. I had decided to give it away, but started glancing through it as I was beginning this note, and I decided to keep it because it has technical details that popular accounts of geology (I have the Folio edition of Richard Fortey's book Earth) lack..… (mehr)
