Jim Corbett has spent much of his life as a cowboy, sheep and goat herder, range analyst, and teacher of wildland symbiotics. In 1981 he began guiding political refugees from El Salvador and Guatemala through this Sonoran Desert he knows so well, helping thousands to reach safe haven. He became one of the founders of the Sanctuary Movement, the human rescue chain that is a modern day incarnation of the Underground Railroad.
