I have always had a tendency to muddle my Goebbels with my Höss so this book was useful in helping me sort that out. But obviously that is not the point. The author does a great job of trying to understand these children of war criminals and how it influenced their lives while giving not an inch for the atrocities carried out by their parents. Reactions varied from complete denial to sterilisation to ensure the murder genes were not passed on. Perhaps the most heartwarming was the son who became an architect like his father but earned a name for his forward thinking, people centred cities.… (mehr)
