Ok beginning but it started to spiral out of control into the ridicilous towards the end.

In The Perfect Bride, Alec hired Caitlyn's company in an effort to shake her up and put marriage in her plans; In Monday Man, a good Rom-Com when Lucy hires Nick as a PI and she's a walking disaster that absolutely shakes him up.

The first novel I've read by this author and I can't wait to explore more of her writing! The book has been on my "to read" shelves for a long time and now I can't understand what took me so long to explore the offering.

It's a page-turning thriller and with a copyright date of 2003 it seems even more creative to be written before the word "terrorist" was part of our nation's daily headlines and daily vocabulary. For anyone who has been deceived by the partner he/she married this captures the innermost feelings of betrayal, guilt, and the aftereffects to his/her self-confidence. Charlotte has been told by the FBI that the man she married and dearly loves is an international terrorist and at Christmas when emotions always seem closer to the surface. So begins twists and turns that I never saw coming on the next page or pages and I couldn't stop reading!

Missing
1 Star

Ron Raven, a successful and respected businessman, is missing and presumed dead, but this is merely the tip of the iceberg because Ron is also a bigamist. Not only has he scammed his separate families for more than two decades, he has also conned his brother-in-law out of three million dollars. As the Raven and Fairfax families struggle to come to terms with Ron’s betrayal, his daughter, Megan, and brother-in-law, Adam Fairfax, must work together to locate the missing millions.

The suspense plot has such tremendous potential. Unfortunately, the writing is long-winded, repetitive and redundant - too much telling and not enough showing. By the time the villain and motive are revealed, it is difficult to care one way or the other.

The romance doesn’t fare much better as Megan and Adam have very little chemistry and don’t even meet until halfway through the book.

All in all, an excellent premise but the writing is so poor that I’ve no interest in continuing with the series.

Set in historical Italy during their fight for independence from the Austrians, the heroine travels to a villa that's be given to her by her uncle as payment for her to care for her cousin unborn bastard child. She encounters the 'owner' of the villa who's a vampire and in his time of cresting they call it. Basically he's so consumed with the urge to mate with a virgin he's afraid he'd resort to rape. After the cresting time is finish he discovers that he's still consumed with desire for the heroine. The one problem with the book is the ending. The heroine is kidnapped and the Austrians with a priest is tow, plan to murder her for being a spy. Instead the hero shows up and demands to kill her himself. That's all fine as the author knowing he's not going to do it-I mean it would be a pretty depressing romance novel. But the heroine is absolutely sure he means to shoot her. Sorry but if they can read each others mind and be so in tuned with each other it isn't right for her to be so deathly afraid of him killing her. It wasn't right.

I figured out pretty early that Michael was the one that was searching for Emily's birth parents and what he found was the reason he dumped her.

Good plot and well executed, but it should not be labeled romantic suspense in my opinion because there is not much of a relationship. When the book ended I had the feeling their relationship was only beginning... or could just as well slowly die out.

Really predictable and fluffy and exactly what I wanted to read LOL! Woman falls in love with hot actor/boss and enlists the help of her long time guy friend, who has an agenda of his own, to tutor her in the art of seduction. Quick read.

his book is about Verity Marlowe. After the death of her husband she falls in a downward spiral of alcoholism and self-pity. Until one day a funny encounter with someone from her past shakes her loose from her stupor. Just in time to get back to work and save her country and her childhood friend. He and his family are in trouble and she is the only one who speaks his language. She rushes to his aid only to find that the other agent in charge of the whole thing is Michael Strait. To her shock she realizes that the simple truths that she knew about him were really well crafted lies. Can she forgive him enough to save a country and herself.

This book clearly suffers form back of the box syndrome sometimes I wonder if the person who writes the synopsis on the back flap really reads the book at all. At first glace I thought that this book was just another run of the mill anti-terrorist book. This is not the case however it is a very delightful book filled with funny lines romantic scenes and a bit of a twist. I would recommend this book it is well worth the read and I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I was anticipating this 3rd book to be really good and wrap up the story of Ron Raven's disappearance. However, it was the least entertaining of the three books. It did wrap up the story in two pages but it seemed like the ending was hurried and it was definitely not satisfying. I figured out who was causing the problems early on in this story so there was no mystery there. I did finish it and it did wrap up the story but I wasn't happy with this story.

This is the first book in the Raven Trilogy. The book is about Ron Raven, a business man that travels a lot and has two families. When Ron goes missing, both families begin to search for reasons he has disappeared and why did he spend all of these years lying to both families. With two more books in this series (Suspect & Payback), there is a lot more to unravel. Missing starts the search and introduces us to one of Ron's children Megan from one marriage and Adam the brother of Ron's wife from the second marriage. I thought the book had good suspense, some romance, and a lot of questions left about the true story of what happened so I am looking forward to starting Book 2 Suspect and see where this story goes.

Very good story. I love the writing style. Very easy to read and get stuck in the plot. Very different take on the traditional background of a vampire.

3 linked short romances about three sisters adopted into different families, with romances taking up most of the plot. In the first, the revelation about the adoption when the protagonists's mother falls ill forms most of the alt. plot; the second alt. plot is about the protagonist's panic attacks and how she manages her life so no-one notices, with a bit of propaganda on the side about gifted children. Useful portrayal of chronic illness and mental illness in one go, though I suspect depression is a bit less easy to portray sexily; also the panic attacks are a bit too conveniently "healed" at the end when the birth family are reunited. Third alt. plot is about water rights conflict and the revelation as an adult of being adopted.

The stories are all a bit lightweight but between them they cover a range of adoption outcomes: known adoptee in loving family; known adoptee cared for less well; child discovering only at adulthood they were adopted.

Good plot, but middle got bogged down with rehash of same theories without new insights. By the time the villain was uncovered, I felt cheated. Felt sneaked in at end after all the chest beating. Still I read from start to finish because the writing is well done.

The action, the characters, and plot were great. The action of becoming a secret agent to avenge your family, the characters were in depth and deep, fears and strengths that just not only touch the reader but make the characters believeable, plus there were unsuspected surprise and make me all the more excited about the sequel, coming later this year. I have read some of the harlequin/sihoulette books by Ms. Cresswell but these romantic suspense novels are my cup if tea. A fantastic must read.

I really like Jesamine Cressell's novels, but in THE CONSPIRACY she almost writes two books. One has an appealing hero and heroine with an intriguing "problem." At the same time, we had page upon page of turgid prose describing the political situation in Khasmir and lots of pages that must have been written from someone's notes. I liked the major characters; I skipped the many boring parts. Now I'm taking my copy of the book to a second hand bookstore. It's not a keeper.

This is the 2nd book in the Raven trilogy. The story of a multi-millionaire that has two separate families. In this book Paul Raven (oldest son of Ron) is an attorney asked to defend Chloe Hamilton in the murder of her husband. She had approached Paul before to handle her divorce then changed her mind. There is a connection between Chloe's husband and Paul's father brother-in-law of the 2nd wife. Not a lot in this story about what happened to Ron Tucker but there is one more book in this trilogy.
