- W.T. Cummings (William known as Bill) was a California native, served in the military during the war years and settled in Boston. He published 4 children's books. In time he went on to teach and make documentary films, and later became a technical book illustrator. Eventually he and his partner sold their home outside of Boston, bought a sailboat and moved/sailed to Florida. They bought into a hotel there. Bill passed away in Florida.

Miss Esta Maude's Secret von W. T. Cummings
Cute story about a prim and proper schoolteacher who has a secret. Unfortunately, the date it was written really shows because there's just way, way too much text for a picture book. So it takes too long to get the heart of the story, then the end feels rushed.
