This is a fairly standard, by-the-numbers romantic comedy, complete with sassy gay friends (who are great for fashion tips), loyal girlfriends (who will share wine and pizza) and self-imposed emotional obstacles (that get to be faced and overcome). Nothing special, but it's well done, accomplishes what it sets out to do, and reads like a breeze.

Having read all the great reviews of this book, I was excited to read it. At the beginning, I really noticed that I was forcing myself to read this book and thought of just putting it down and picking it up at a later date. But, I stuck with it and it got much better. I would have rated it 4 stars, but the grammar and the transitioning of sentences were poor and confusing. Hopefully the editing in her next book is better.

It's only been a few weeks since Londoner Fiona Blount finally discovered her father, William Brown, over the internet...and that he has ESP powers, same as her!

Now, she's on her way to America to stay with him and his family for six weeks over the summer. Although she's excited about the visit and the chance to attend the secret ESP boot camp so that she can better control her powers, she's nervous about getting along with William's family, since she's been told they can be rather "quirky."

Also, she and her boyfriend, Joe, have only been an official item for a short while. How will they manage to keep it together now that they're apart, when they haven't even gotten to the mushy stuff yet?

Fiona's first encounter with her father's family leaves a bit to be desired, with her cold, spider-like grandmother, all but absent grandfather and aunt, and TV-obsessed cousin. Fiona grows frustrated with the tight rules of the house, and spends her energy working on her ESP lessons. She notices how her father puts out a low level of "love vibes" when he's in the house, and how all members of the family seem a lot happier when he's around.

So, while William Brown is across the country on ESPer business, Fiona decides to bend the rules a little and at least try to fix this family with a little boost. No one will have to know, and the future of her cousin and grandmother may depend on it. But is Fiona really an ESP master yet?

A fun, fast-paced read, I totally enjoyed reading this "totally fabulous" story! Although I have not read the previous book, ALMOST FABULOUS, the author does a great job on filling the reader in on previous events, and I fell right in step with the characters and story.
