My daughter, the traveler insisted I purchase this from a thrift store, and I expect we will be taking it on trips and using it. The product of an excellent history magazine, American Heritage, there are many photographs (but not for all houses) and short descriptions. Some especially useful features are the two pages in the front"Building Styles 1640-1880" and viewing times included when available for each house. It covers all U.S. States. Compact and useful.
