Not quite what I expected. I thought it would be a series of vignettes following a set group of people with each person having a different arc. Turns out it was a multiple pov of a single arc, set in serial format.

London Brown/Desneah is the female lead. As London she is a very high priced "whore" to Britain's upper echelons. As Desneah she is the shy, vulnerable daughter to a high ranking member of the social and political scene. While London;s clients are the friends and business partners of Desneah's father, Desneah is not quite aware of the details. London made herself known when at the age of nine Desneah was raped and subsequently faced years of sexual abuse by the father of the boy she grew to love.

There are two main male love interests. Both of them love Desneah, however it is Ryhss Cristos that is "bestest" friends with Desneah, having loved her in secret for years. Cade is the man who left Desneah five years previously only to come back and find that she has turned into London and London has become a "whore". Cade has no clue that his father was responsible for the changes in Desneah that he noticed when she grew withdrawn from him as a child.

Cade is a first class "Captain-save-a-ho" to the point where he literally thinks that "he can save her from her life"....

So it boils down to a regular dark erotic fiction featuring a small cast who each has their own secrets and motivations, all trying to work towards the ultimate goal of being the only one with Desneah, and London Brown being no longer needed. London isn't letting that happen, so she does what she can to keep Desneah from attaching to one or the other. Desneah is getting stronger, she finally is accepting the sexual contact from a lover instead of letting London deal with it as a whore.

As Desneah grows stronger, London grows more worried.

Its good, but it really isn't keeping me held. I guess once we get to the part where Rhyss and Desneah finally start working on being in a relationship, while Cade is doing what he can to cock block him, there really isn't anything further.

I will continue on to see.

This book was very well written but it was also kind of hard to follow since she refers to herself in split personalities. It was nice to see someone so real about who they are, what they stand for, why they do the things they do, without making apologies for it. It was even more refreshing to see someone in the sex profession that doesn't have mommy and daddy issues.
