This review is for MR. NOVEMBER (Vancouver Vice #4) by Melanie Ting. I haven’t had the opportunity to read the rest of the books yet. I have skimmed through the other books; they look promising, and I am looking forward to reading them.

I follow Melanie Ting’s Vancouver Vice Series and was eager to read the next book in the series. I was not disappointed. This story was adorable. I love both cats and hockey so MR. NOVEMBER gave me my fix of both.

AHL enforcer Marty Devonshire is asked to pose for a team charity calendar promoting a local cat shelter. While there, he meets volunteer Elaine Salang and Knightley the Cat; both changing his life. This contemporary sports romance takes place in Vancouver, Canada.

I really enjoyed the characters. Marty is super sweet. He is tough on the ice and shy off of it. I love how his team mates band together to try to help Marty gain the confidence to pursue Elaine. Although it was clearly all Knightley the cats doing. I love that Marty adopts Knightley and that they both have a scar on their face. They make very compatible companions. Elaine is a caring heroine. She is smart and hard working. She has a great family. I can understand why she was hesitant about Marty, and I’m glad she gave it another chance. The couple and cat are great together.

At first, I wasn’t crazy about Marty’s roommate, Jonesy, but he ends up being a good guy. I was happy that Amanda Richardson from AN IRRESISTIBLE FORCE played a role in this story. I like that her cat was brought up. I appreciated that Eric Fairburn from book one, THE TAO OF HOCKEY, gave Marty some sound advice. I also, love the tip-in hockey scenes with Eric.

The story was well-written and believable. It had a sweet ending. MR. NOVEMBER is an excellent addition to the Vancouver Vice Series.

Adriana and Flint are partners working undercover for the Department of National Security... it's a partnership that's a bit strained at the moment. They had been closer than partners, actually, until Adriana found Flint in bed with Lindsay. Ryan Hartford's a bad guy they want to take down, but things are quickly going to hell. what with Flint's being framed for murder and Adriana's been kidnapped....
Flint and Adriana are both desperately in love, and will do anything to protect themselves from a broken heart. They both yearn to come clean, but they can't seem to do anything but hurl insults and insinuations at one another. The lies fall fast and thick as tempers flare and self-preservation kicks in. will they be able to let the truth out before it is too late?

The ending was a bit anti-climactic, and there was definite plot points left hanging for the inevitable sequel, but it was a satisfying, quick read. A perfect read for a lazy afternoon at the beach. Nothing deep, nothing unexpected, but you couldn't help but root for Adriana and Flint's love. They may not be complex characters, but they were completely enjoyable to spend an afternoon with.

What happens when you cross a talented author like Jerri Drennan, a pyschedelic cover, a know-it-all uncle, a sexy undercover agent, a scorned partner and lots of twists, turns and laughs? One h*ll of a book, that's for sure! This book was awesome! I'll admit, that the only reason I wanted to read this book was due in all actuality to the cover. But, once I sat down and started to read, wow! I was totally lost to the world as I read each page.

Flint Morgan. First let me say that oh la la, and I want to be Adriana! He's sexy, smart, and when the love of his life is kidnapped, well, of course he'll do anything to get her back, including......cross dressing?! But, there's one little problem.....he's being accused of murder. He's innocent and only one person can help him prove it. The beautiful Adriana.

Adriana. The scorned partner. See, she caught her boyfriend in bed with the enemy's girlfriend. So, she's determined to move on. But, that's not so easy when she has to see him everyday as her undercover agent partner. What's a girl to do when she can't get her man out of her system, the sex is so good you can't get enough and then your kidnapped! Wow!

Throw in the know-it-all uncle and you've got a GREAT suspenseful, romantic ride of laughs and crime. This is most definitely worthy of 5 Books and high recommendations. Not only will you find that the cover looks totally cool, but the story within....will leave you jaw-dropped often! You'll quickly fall in love with Flint (who wouldn't love a sexy undercover agent?!), Adriana (gotta love her James Bondness!) and the amazing plot line that Jerri Drennan created. This book is going in my to-read-again list and I can't wait to see the next Department Of National Security book!
