Dear Paige,

This book! You blew this one out of the water! The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, especially watching the “bad guy” become the bad guy! Ooh, that was good!

I loved Sophie’s determination and Zander’s thoughtfulness. For real, Zander is soooo good! Absolutely perfect book hero. Loved him! And I loved how he slowly worked himself into Sophie’s good graces, helping her to see him as the good person he was. Really, the tension and romance was super good!

Learning a little more about stud farms and racing was a fun bonus to this one. And having a book set in Scotland is never a bad thing! You make the setting come alive and I loved it! I also desperately want to go to Scotland now (even more so than usual), so I’ll send my husband your direction when he wants someone to blame for my endless dreaming, thankyouverymuch.

As I said, your suspense was phenomenal in this book! I was on the edge of my seat, wondering how things were going to turn. I thought it was fascinating watching the bad guy actually turn bad. Very clever method! But also made it a little more suspenseful, because we got to know him so well! *chills* It was super good!

You have me hooked, Paige! I’m completely sold on your books!

Hooked forever,
Jessica

With plenty of suspense and romance and a setting in modern-day Scotland, Flat Deception is a captivating tale of horses, racing, deceit, and the triumph of good over evil. Talented author Paige Edwards has filled this book with interesting, multi-layered characters. Lady Sophie Henderson is independent and determined to establish her horse breeding business. Zander Matthews is a fantastic main character and hero who wants to help Sophie and win her heart. It was so delightful to see their relationship grow and change. The suspense was well done and kept me guessing to the last. I recommend this book to those who enjoy clean and wholesome contemporary romantic suspense. 4.5 stars

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Another fantastic, suspenseful romance in the Roxbury Heirs series! Flat Deception kept me on the edge of my seat as I raced through Lady Sophie Henderson’s story. It’s a fast paced thrill ride centered around the world of British horse racing.

Lady Sophie Henderson has a gift with horses. She convinced her father to invest in her dream of breeding racehorses, but when the estate is saddled with unforeseen repairs he’s forced to cut her funding. While seeking other avenues to support her dream including selling her heirloom jewelry, Sophie relies on an old friend to stable her horses. She receives help from the last man she expected, her father’s handsome financial analyst who inadvertently crushed her dreams.

Zander Matthews has had a crush on Sophie for years. He regrets being involved in cutting Sophie’s funding & offers to become her business partner to keep her horse racing dream alive. But, when Lady Sophie’s life is threatened & she’s accused of doping her horse, they must work together to clear her name.

I loved Sophie & Zander! Zander is the sweetest, most thoughtful hero. I loved all the ways he supports Sophie & is always looking out for her. Sophie’s a strong, ambitious, caring woman & I loved her passion for horses. Their swoony romance was so good! I found myself highly anticipating that next kiss. I also enjoyed the inspirational message of letting go of grudges.

The suspense definitely kept me turning the pages. The bad guys are truly terrifying and don’t hesitate to take care of anyone who gets in their way. The thrilling suspense builds and builds to a heart-stopping conclusion with a few twists along the way.

Scotland’s definitely on my bucket list & I love the way the author brings this area of the world to life. It was fun seeing previous characters again & I’m hoping there are more books in store!

Highly recommend to romantic suspense fans! Though part of a series it can definitely be read as a standalone, but then you’ll want to go back & read the previous books. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author and publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

Do you need a book filled with a hilarious (read: disastrous but still hilarious) meet cute, swoony romance, non-stop action, nail-biting suspense, and immersive settings? Then choose this book! This one checks every box for a book you want to love. It's an amazing conclusion to the Presley-Coombs series, and I loved every bit of it!

The book starts off with a bang when Isla witnesses something she shouldn't--and she is left for dead by the guilty party. And it doesn't slow down from there. Something is always happening, keeping you guessing and wondering and on the edge of your seat.

The meet-cute between Isla and Ben was absolutely hilarious and I laughed through the whole thing! Did I think Ben was maybe a little too grumpy? Yes. Yes, I did. Did I want to Gibbs-smack him and tell him to apologize? Also yes. Thankfully his dad has no problem with telling him to settle down--and that time can give a lot of perspective to a problem. I loved how it set the tone for the relationship between the two, which provided for some good tension when Isla's situation escalated to life-threatening proportions.

The romance in this one is too cute. I am a major sucker for "he falls first" tropes, and this is no exception, especially because of all that led up to that situation. The last few chapters kept me completely hooked, and I couldn't read it fast enough. I also stayed up way too late to finish, which should be a good recommendation on it's own, as I do not function without my sleep. Willingly giving it up for this book speaks volumes to how I feel about it.

Oh, and did mention that you get two settings in this one? That's another thing I loved. Scotland and Virginia? Yes, please!

This book reads like a standalone, though there are three others previous to this in the series. And you'll want to read them all, because they're all amazing.

**thanks to the author for the copy. I loved this book and these thoughts are my own!
