A thief of very small stature breaks into a rich house, and encounters a young girl who thinks he's an elf and want him to take her to see Faerie, although the truth of the Dark Quarter is much more sinister. A lot of the set-up of this story reminded me of Dodger, which I had listened to not long before, so that was working in its favor. I also thought the set-up of the sinister goings-on and how they tied into the rest of the story was really effectively done as well.

A young man is apprenticed to a great demon-hunter, and they head into the hills to slay one of the last demons in the realm. I saw the twist in this story coming miles off, but I still enjoyed it; Edwards does a nice job of balancing trust and suspicion and suspense.

Dark fantasy about a drug-based culture which allows both the transference of physical and emotional characteristics, and the warping of same.

An emissary of the high regent arrives at a remote colony. After the high-level business is done she journeys to a remote mountain village, to seek her past, now long distant because of the relatavistic effects of space travel. Elegaic and sad.
