Review: “I was given this book for my honest review”

I was pretty surprised at the writing of this book. It wasn’t quite what I thought it would be when I read the description. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book but I think it could have been better written. The story was great, Cassie was going through the normal grieving process of not wanting to date or be involved with a man after her husband passed. Then she meets Jed at a convention, and he changes her mind about dating. I just didn’t really consider it too much of a romance like it is supposed to be. There were a few sex scenes, however, not like the normal romance novel you read.

I know this is the first book in a series, so I’m not completely putting it down by any means. I loved the detail on what Cassie was going through with the loss of her husband, it kept my attention the whole time for sure. The characters were great, I like that Jed is a very confident man and Cassie thinks he is an a** at first. I didn’t like how irritated he got with Cassie in some of the scenes and she just let it happen and didn’t say anything. To me that showed her as being weak and I don’t care for weak females.

I loved the ending because it was a cliff hanger, not many people like that but everyone has their own opinion. It just makes me want to read the next book to see what happens. The author knew what she was doing with the ending, so hopefully the next book will show a better side to Jed and Cassie’s relationship.… (mehr)

Loved this book. Libby is the main character & is a writer. Dan is an ex-cop turned PI & friend of Libby. Rodney is her artist neighbor. Adlynn does a great job of giving us a series of complex intricate characters & apes us to get to know them. While on a routine surveillance with Dan, Libby connects briefly with another woman that they see being pushed into a car, is reported missing & later shows up dead. Suddenly a cowboy, Jake, shows up as a love interest for Libby. Good guy or bad guy? Add in more intrigue, romance & Jake.. Can't wait for the next installment!!… (mehr)

Real Life Fiction Book 2 picks up where the first book ends with Libby in the middle of trying to make sense of Dan's death. Dan was her friend that was an ex-cop turned PI. Libby & Dan had seen a woman get shoved in a vehicle while in the middle of a stakeout. This woman ended up dead. Dan went to the police & tried to keep Libby out of it. Now Dan is dead. Libby is unsure what to do. Libby decides to go to the police also. At Dan's funeral, Libby is sure the killer is there and staring at her but Jake says its all her imagination.

Jake & Libby take a mini-vacation to a cabin. When they come back, Libby is sure everything is looking up. Libby goes to check in with Dan's friend at the police station. When she tells Jake, he gets very upset with her and tells her she needs to leave it alone.

What happens next? Who is Libby to trust? Is Jake a good guy or not? Is Libby wrong to start falling for Jake? I can't wait for Book 3!… (mehr)

This is part 3 of a great series. Libby is experiencing surveillance with Dan, an ex-cop turned PI. They observe a woman being pushed into a vehicle. This woman then turns up dead. Dan is going to the police with the information & is going to keep Libby out of it. Next thing she knows, Dan is also dead. She feels like someone is following her. She meets a new man, Jake and begins to fall in love. Libby begins to get notes & phone calls that appear to be from the killer. They talk about things only Jake, Libby & Rodney (her best friend) know about. Is Jake a good guy? Who is the killer? Is Libby in true danger.

Adlynn is a great writer that develops complex characters in a short time & is a master at cliff hangers. Can't wait for book 4!!… (mehr)
