Okay so this book literally had me Laughing out Loud.

It was hilarious.. Especially assaulting the police with a pregnancy test. I think it had me going for the whole book. It was too cute and I definitely liked it A LOT! I would recommend this book to those of you who have a sense of humor only. What I didn't like was all the little white lies but, it made the story sooo I guess I can say I would definitely recommend this book.

Tess in Boots was a great book. It was light-hearted and fun, yet you could really sympathize with Tess who was re-evaluating her life. There were so many surprises or mysterious happenings going on that could mean different things depending on how you looked at them that it made things very difficult for her to figure things out. And they didn’t just affect her – they affected her brother too.

I liked that the putting on of the boots sort of symbolized opening herself up to the possibility of change in her life. Cutting her hair seemed to be her first step in taking charge of her own life instead of letting others always tell her what to do. It was fun to watch her character develop through the story.

As Tess gets to know the farmhand Thatcher better, she is charmed by his spontaneity and wittiness and begins to have feelings for him which brings on a whole new level of confusion for her regarding her boyfriend Logan. It was easy to sympathize with her regarding the anguish she felt over this situation.

I liked the pacing of this novel. It moved at a good pace, keeping the reader interested, anticipating the next event. Tess in Boots had a couple of good plot twists near the end of the book for a great ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tess in Boots. I gave it a rating of 5 stars out of 5. This was an excellent clean romance.

Thank you to the publishers who provided a copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.

OK … So you’ve been dating this guy for years. He takes you for a walk along the waterfront and then into a “quaint little candlelit café” overlooking the Hudson. He announces he has a surprise. What are you thinking? Exactly what Tess Dougherty thought. He’s going to pop the question. He doesn’t. It’s a congratulatory cake to celebrate her promotion. Well, for Tess, this was the end of the line. A few words are exchanged and then she does it … she gives Logan an ultimatum.

Now have you ever noticed that when one thing goes wrong, usually a few wrong things follow? The next day (even after the promotion), Tess is laid off. So, after some thought and encouragement from her twin brother, Jake, she sets out from New York to North Carolina to stay with Jake and his wife, Sara. Sara had recently been the heiress to her uncle’s vineyard. It had been in disarray for several years and they are now trying to build it back up. Jake wants Tess to help with marketing. She begins to think what a beautiful venue the vineyard would be for weddings. So that’s how she wants to promote it. Shortly after she arrives, she meets Thatcher James. He has knowledge of the wine industry and is there to help Jake and Sara get everything up and running. He’s a very blunt and no-nonsense type of man and immediately Tess and Thatcher are at odds with one another. Yet she discovers he does have some good points. But, she doesn’t want to like Thatcher – not in that way. After all, Logan is going to realize the big mistake he made and call her any day now.

This is a very charming romance novel and Tess is a very charming young woman. She wasn’t naturally a strong person, but she had the ability to think on her feet and fooled a lot of people into thinking she was organized and on top of things. I liked her personality. Even though she and Thatcher are at odds with one another quite a bit, I really liked him too. Their interaction was cute as each one was in denial of their attraction to the other. I rated Tess in Boots at 4 out of 5.
