Very interesting, unique book where art is central to the science fiction.

A crashing disappointment. I was never ever able to connect with the protagonist or make sense of the story. Perhaps I might have enjoyed it as a young man when i originally purchased the novel.

Abandoned after reading first part (Lords of the Starship). So disappointing. I picked this up because I had read the first two parts of this when I was young, and I thought I remembered liking them. I even had gone back and re-collected the paperback editions. So when I saw this omnibus volume with a third story, I thought I would enjoy it. Wrong. A new character every page. No character development. Boring prose. Battles too hard to follow. I can't believe an editor really saw value in this, but maybe back in the late 1960s this was good by comparison.… (mehr)

This one of the bleakest post-apocalyptic books thrown up by the 1960's and a fitting codicil to "The Lords of the Starship". Amon VanRoark sees the end of all things....or does he?
