Nicely informative with many illustrations, it does mention the cowboys propensity for whiskey and fighting.

This was very great and informative for a number of reasons. The first reason the book is good is because the language was very descriptive. The book outlines what the cowboys did throughout their day and what materials the cowboys had like their boots, bridle, and lasso. The book also described how cowboys caught cattle with great detail as well. Another reason the book is great is because of the illustrations. The drawings are very colorful and depict what everything looked like back then in great detail. There are pictures of the items cowboys have, where they live, and what towns looked like during the time. When the book wrote about how cowboys sang songs while sitting around the fire, there was a picture of music paper with a trail song on it. The big idea of this book is to teach about what it was like to be a cowboy hundreds of years ago.

This book describes many Native American tribes, describing many different traits of each tribe. Illustrations accompany each page, showing the different attire and houses of each nation. There is also a neat little map in the book that shows which pieces of land used to belong to each tribe.

I thought this book was really neat. I loved all of the pictures and thought that it did a really good job of outlining some of the history of Native Americans.

In the classroom, I would use this book when talking about American history. It would be great to go along with a history lesson.
One history lesson would be when the English came to America and took over.
Another History lesson this would be greatly accompany would be when the U.S. government made the Indians move to the Great Plains because they wanted all of their land.

I read this picture book aloud to my children. The illustrations are nice and colourful, and the book provides a good overview (without overwhelming young listeners) of various North American Indian tribes. I found the content interesting and age appropriate, and it is a good addition to our studies concerning Native Nations!

I also remember reading this book when I was a child, and I loved it then as much as I do now!

MY RATING: 5 stars! I loved it!! Highly recommended!

The Pioneers by Marie and Douglas Gorsline is about the move to the west. It talks about the journey of the pioneers on the Oregon Trail. How they moved, what they had to bring on their trip. What they did on the way going to keep them busy. They dangers that the pioneers faced like storms and attack from others. The book states that nearly 20,000 lost their lives in this great travel out west.

This book would be a good for children grades 3-6, young children just did not understand it.

The Pioneers could be used in the classroom when talking about the Pioneers. You could use it to talk about the Oregon Trail. You could talk about life now and life back then.

This picture book contains over 1,800 line drawings showing what types of clothing people in Europe and the U.S. wore during various historical eras in the past.

This is a book about the different tribes of the Native Americans that were in America when Columbus came and when the English started to take over. It goes through their history and traditions of the tribe. I also goes through some of the vocabulary of the tribes and some of the sign language of the Native Americans.

This was an interesting book. It had a lot of great information and could easily be used for a student doing reports or a student that would be interested in using this book to study on the Native Americans.

I could use this book to help with a historical section of the class. It would be a good resource for covering the Native Americans and their traditions before the English came. It would be an interesting lesson to teach the students some of the sign language associated with the Native Americans and have them use some of the words such as "Yes", "Fire", and "Dog". It could be a fun project.
