Hilarious and entertaining account of the famous Irish Times journalist and editor, R.M. Smyllie, by one of his former subordinates, who makes no attempt to hide his bias in favour of the eccentric character, and indeed glories in stories of just how much of a chaotic genius Smyllie was. And, for that matter, it's a valentine directed at the newspaper itself, with an interesting, multi-page digression into how a Linotype machine worked, a technology now lost.
