Beautifully illustrated story of the first Thanksgiving, or Harvest Festival, from the Wampanoag point of view. Includes Wampanoag vocabulary and magical imagery. Lovely.

Danielle Greendeer author event at the Carle Museum

Read aloud to third graders and some other classes during Native American Heritage Month.

An excellent story from the Wampanoag point of view (actually, told by the three sisters, corn, beans, and squash).
