Reason, Faith, and the Struggle for Western… von Samuel Gregg
Part polemic, part history, part manifesto but all moaning. I don't even know what the author is trying to convince me of, other than that the world was built by Christians. I think it's telling how far back he has to reach for examples and the only modern people he keeps quoting are the popes. Still what does that prove? It's like saying the world was created by humans who believed in the theory of 4 humours.
Paperback. Good condition, though front cover has a stain in lower left corner.
This book is of significant historical significance. This trial in front of the Massachusetts Medical Society prosecuted 8 prestigious homeopaths for the "crime" of practicing homeopathy as a member of a conventional medical society. Samuel Gregg, MD, was the founder of the 1st women's medical college (a homeopathic medical school).
