A knitting book that doesn't bother giving any dimensions is not very useful. Many of the patterns would be interesting if there were a diagram of the finished piece(s). Even with the same yarn, people don't knit to exactly the same gauge. (Not to mention that I have no intention at all of counting a few hundred rows.) I would reserve to myself the right to buy a similar yarn and not the exact one she uses even if I could get the brands she mentions. As it is, I won't waste my time with it.

It had a lot of interesting square crochet designs that you could make other than the traditional granny square - there was also patterns for the alphabet. It was nice to see all the kinds of different things that can be crocheted.
But again not all of us want patterns that include rainbow vomit colour combinations of colours or hideous green colours paired with yellow and orange flowers. The colours that were chosen to illustrate the featured designs and patterns were really gross and really let the book down. I should have known from the cover!
Great if you love horrendously dated looking clothing and home decor.… (mehr)
