Lynn Hagen

Okay - at her best, Lynn writes a short story that gets up to 3.5/5. Some of her earlier work approached a 4/5 as she paid attention to world-building.
Then she devolved into a 'pump out the stories' format which holds little detail. To improve she needs to develop her characters, her world-building and step up the plot building by like times 10.
This may sound harsh but the reality is she can write a great short story - but does not write a novel. Her work is a good place for those first exploring the m-m paranormal genre and I do own many of her books.
Unfortunately, this mini-series was not her best work.
This story was similar to the first two in the series and needed to be the end as it has no life.… (mehr)

I took a detour and decided to visit Lynn Hagen - this time a short series I had not read before - Sacred Bonds. I picked it up expecting a nice little snack of a read, and that is what I got. Tasty - short - uncomplicated - fated mates - male pregnancy. This series focuses on triads where 2 of the members are brothers and not involved with each other - they focus on their third - the breeder.
As a short snack the characters and plot are not complex or developed. Holes in the story are bound to exist. I sometimes wonder what Lynn could produce if she ever decided to develop her characters and story.… (mehr)
