The story seemed a bit slow at first, but once it hit its stride it really took off. I especially enjoyed the magic system, which is presented in some detail. By the end, I was ready for the story to continue -- so hurry up and finish the next one, Devin!
This is the second book in a trilogy, and while I thought that the first was pretty good, I liked this one more. The characters are more real, the action more exciting. Best of all, it left me wanting more of the story. Hopefully the third volume will be out soon!
Excellent conclusion to the trilogy. What I like most about the story is the melding of a "technology" of magic with steampunk elements and how it all relates to the dragons. If you enjoy heroic fantasy, check this out.

The storyline flows smoothly and the characters are well defined. The dialog is realistic as are the situations. One cannot help but become immersed in the story as it unfolds.
Rhett Samuel Price, the narrator, performed this audiobook wonderfully! Changing voices for each character is a monumental feat and one he pulls off well. I enjoyed hearing Price read this book!
