Honestly, it was a great read from start to finish! You can't help but love our girl Kendall. She lives her life, chases her goals, and tries not to worry what others say or think about her...but deep down, she wants to make her family happy, just on her own terms...and alas, love has taken a backseat to her ambitions. Well it DID at least...guess it just takes that one to spin things in another direction, although the direction events take for Kendall are most definitely unexpected. Anywho, as I said, I really felt she was a great leading lady, oh and yeah, I'm there with her on the terminology thing (you know if you've read it! )...LOL! When life starts turning from lemonade to lemons, she struggled to change (who wouldn't? ), but eventually finds her own path while satisfying her heart. You see? Women CAN have it all.

I can almost image becoming a spinster myself as I didn’t get married until I’d turned 43 to my dear OH who’s about three years younger. Being a spinster is probably the worst thing any real woman would ever want to be. Perhaps that’s why I found a sort of affinity with the book’s female protagonist, Kendall Keogh.
What woman wouldn’t love being in her shoes, especially when you consider her job as a lawyer is taking off by leaps and bounds, oodles of monies in a bank account, and a ritzy apartment with breath-taking views of the Chicago River. But what she doesn’t want now is some guy to make her feel complete and happy, which is what her Grandma Bev insists on her having. At this point in her life, Kendall feels would interrupt with her finally becoming an associate at the law firm she’s been diligently working for all these years, Leder & Lincoln.
Kendall is quite comfortable living a life that she feels is complete, complete that is until fate steps in while she’s hosting a bachelorette party for Ruthie, and what should have been simply a fun night for all the women there turns rather wicked when two unexpected male strippers show up dressed as police officers.
After a few too many drinks Kendall starts to let her guard down as her suppressed emotions for the opposite sex emerges as she simply couldn’t keep her eyes off Giovanni appearance. At the party’s end, with Kendall’s yearnings still brewing in her mind and heart, they simply party company.
No woman who’s ever felt love can bear seeing a “sister” not experiencing it as well at least once in their life. And for Kendall this woman is Freya, her recent legally separated cousin, who with some careful scheming and urging convinces Kendall into having a one-night stand with her suppressed heartthrob, Gio[vanni].
While Kendall might feel her life now has been fulfilled, this guy desires more everlasting. Not prepared for this, she’s been forced to rethink the advice Grandma Bev had given her about needing some guy to make her feel complete and happy, as well as the priorities she’s set for herself and her professional career. Will Kendall ultimately alter her career path? Is there a HEA for our two protagonists, Kendall and Gio, and giving her the Prince Charming, every woman dreams of having in her life?

For giving her readers, a well-written charming story which shows all things are possible when love comes into the picture, I’ve given Daphne Hargrow, 5 STARS for her endeavor here.

I honestly thought that Bash a and the Beast was a pretty good retelling of the original story,Beauty and the Beast, however I felt that it was a bit too short and that the story didn't really have an overall 'major' conflict.

Three and a half stars: beautiful rendering of a classic story. It's not completely off the rails, since it has a beauty and a beast. The story could have done with an antagonist and it could have done without the magic. There is clearly more story that could have been told, but it didn't disappoint.
