He graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1936, received a B.A. degree from Harding College in 1940, received a M.A. in English and History from The University of Georgia in 1945, and completed post-graduate training in Greek from Harding Graduate School. Mr. Harris was a respected and loved preacher, evangelist, and writer with the Church of Christ for more than 60 years. He served the Lord's congregations in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Upon graduation from Harding College, Mr. Harris taught Bible at Dasher Bible School (Georgia Christian School). He also taught New Testament Greek for the Alabama School of Religion. For several years, Mr. Harris served as editor of the Caribbean Messenger and as a staff writer for The Voice of Truth International. Mr. Harris was a member of North Macon Church of Christ in Macon.
