Rezensionen

The combination of cozy mystery and a cat drew my attention from the start. Dumped by her husband in favor of his much younger and very pregnant lover, Jane Delight has no one to turn to except Rebecca, her twin sister who is still part of the Amish community.

Jane becomes a murder suspect when a man dies after eating a sample cupcake in Rebecca’s bakery. With the assistance of her sister and her new Agatha Christie mystery addicted roommates, she must find a way to clear her name.

The elderly roommates and their cat add a perfect touch of levity to this story. They are full of ideas about how to find the killer and take an active part in the investigation. Of course, it is not all light-hearted as the reader travels down more serious paths in the quest to learn the killer’s identity. But the journey kept my attention and I became involved in the lives of the major characters. Then there is a hint of a future romance to keep you intrigued.

This is the first book in the Amish Cupcake Cozy Mystery series and I look forward to reading more.

Jane was raised Amish but lived in NYC until recently when she moved back into the old neighborhood and bought a house from her Amish sister. Life has been interesting for her and now she has a dear friend who is from Scotland but works in law enforcement. His name is Damon and while he was visiting family back in Scotland he is kidnapped, so Jane flies there and meets some VERY interesting people who help her look for Damon and the murdered butler as well. The best part is all the fun! Great escapist reading and the sleuthing is great, too!… (mehr)

Although this is part of a series, that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying it and laughing their sox off. Like I did! Jane was raised Amish but lived in NYC until recently when she moved back into the old neighborhood and bought a house from her Amish sister. She shares it with a pair of VERY INTERESTING octogenarians, their cat, and their homicidal goat. The murders are not exactly recent and the sleuthing is more than creative, but the LAUGHS are ongoing! Loved it!… (mehr)

situational-humor, verbal-humor, family, friendship, law-enforcement, murder, murder-investigation******

If you've ever read anything by this author you'll know that sequence in series is somewhat irrelevant. The mystery is good, but it's the fun that reels me in! The characters really are and the investigation is full of goats (not a typo). Of course I loved it!
