Well written, giving a good sense of character and ambience. It is set in a bronze-age world, but with active magic. The narrator is a warrior and a devout follower of the god of his people which has brought him into conflict with his brother, the leader of their army or war band. His speech has a Homeric flavour, which adds to the sense of period, as he stands before the King and recounts his part in recent events.
