The hunting of the shark von Bill Heine
So, unbeknown to the neighbours, a huge shark installation is thrust into the roof of a house in a residential street in Headington, Oxford. Eyesore or work of art, it has become part of the landscape. People smile when they see it. This is the story of how it came about and what the reactions were. It made a lot of local news in 1986 and was picked up nationally and even internationally. Eventually the planning decision went in favour of the shark and the author.
