I was sucked into this novel from chapter one and I loved that Bree had a double life in parallel universes. Bree was a trained warrior doing acts as stated by the queen of Liralelle, another name for fairytales. It was her would did the killing and princes got the credit to make their Happy Ever After, but she didn't mind as she was paid in gold coins so that she could attend Julliard and maybe help her mom to cut back on her hours to take care of her little brother. I liked that Killer Pointe went back and forth between realms. With Bree being summoned by the queen at night I was amazed that she could function during the day at high school with little sleep and have a life, but she had no choice if she wanted to get into ballet school.… (mehr)

A fast, fun and very clever story. Imagine being a relatively normal teen, obsessed with ballet and getting into Julliard in our world, while being an on-call assassin/problem solver in another. Meet Bree. She was born in the alternate world, brought to ours after her family was murdered by an evil being in the other one. Every so often, she's summoned by a dark vortex back 'home' to deal with a baddie, but there's a twist, a very interesting one that revealing would be a spoiler. Her missions, coupled with an audition for a leading role in a ballet production, inch closer and closer to turning her life into utter chaos. Add in trolls, fairy tale characters, a couple of her friends getting pulled into the secret part of her life, coupled with a huge surprise or two at the end, and you have the perfect literary escape for anyone loving well crafted urban fantasy.… (mehr)

Lila is a quiet girl. With her baggy clothes and love for her math class, she never really stands out…in public at least. In the privacy of her own home is the only place she lets her secret be on display. She is a fairy. When fairy wings are sold online, Lila realizes that there is a serial killer who is after her kind and her dreams warn her that if she’s not careful, she might be next.

I loved Lila’s character. I felt as if she was down to Earth, a real believable sort of protagonist. She was cautious and also brave, doing what she needed to do to protect herself and those around her. Combined with Ash, she also had a more vulnerable side that disappeared as the story progressed.

Packed with mystery and intrigue, The Wing Collector is definitely a to-read book for all fantasy lovers.

Excellent Urban fantasy blended with mystery and YA romance elements. The plot is solid, the action almost nonstop and the red herrings artfully placed. Both young adults and adults who love well crafted supernatural stories will devour it. I'm not generally a fan of Fae fiction, but this one is a solid winner.
