Synopsis: Bored and frustrated with her job as a secretary, Annette and her new husband Win decide to travel Africa for a year. When their money is stolen by thieves they are left in a state of stress as their supplies are low and they have no-one to contact for help. However, a friendly Australian sees the Australian signwriting on their car and after drinks and dinner he offers them jobs at a construction site. This is Annette's recount of her life working in Africa for a year as her life changes after new experiences of isolation on mountain that can only be accessed by water, love as she helps to care for an ill baby gorilla, and hope that her life will be more fulfilling after spending a year in Africa.
My Opinion: While I thought the story would focus more on Annette being with wildlife rather than of her job at the construction site, it was still a quick and captivating read that encourages others to also experience a more fulfilling life.… (mehr)
